Supplements can make a world of difference…

If you are like most Canadians living a busy life and finding it hard to get the vitamins and minerals you want out of your diet. It may be time to supplement your body with what you might be missing.

Not all supplements are created equal. The following 4 supplements are especially hard to get from your diet alone and are empirically proven that they actually work.

VITAMIN B12 – Since it’s mainly found in beef and liver and we only absorb 1% of what we take in from our diet, most people require supplements. B12 burns the carbohydrates and fat in our food and uses them to increase our energy and elevate our blood oxygen levels. You need 1000 mcg per day.

VITAMIN D3 – Since you can only get it from the sun which we don’t get much of all year, it’s especially important to supplement with D3. It increases the absorption of Calcium which makes our bones and teeth stronger. It also lifts us up from our winter blues and improves our immune system. You need 1000 IU a day.

OMEGA 3’s – If you have a higher ratio of bad to good cholesterol, Omega 3’s can help reverse this. If you suffer from dry eyes or skin, Omega 3 can definitely help add moisture. You need between 2-3 grams a day.

GARLIC – If you have high blood pressure or cholesterol, garlic can help keep them under control. It also boosts the immune system, and studies have shown that it can prevent some cancers. You need 500 mg a day.
